Tour Overview

The 4 days desert tour Marrakech to Fes offers the opportunity to see Kasbahs, ancient villages, the Atlas Mountains, palm groves, the Todra and Dades Gorges, the Sahara Desert, and a camel trek that ends with an overnight stay at a desert camp beneath the stars. Meet nomads while watching the sunset over the Erg Chebbi sand dunes.

Itinerary

After we meet you in Marrakech, our tour begins traveling to Ouarzazate. On our way, our best of 4 days tour from Marrakech to Fes via desert, will start through the famous Tizi N’Tichka which is 2260m over the high Atlas. During our driving, you will value the magnificence of the scene on the road through the Berber villages until we reach Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest Kasbah in Morocco. It was built by Et Hami El Glaoui in the 18th century.

After having lunch in the Kasbah, we will continue the tour to Dades Gorges through Ouarzazate ( the Hollywood Of Africa) and the Road of Thousand Kasbahs where you will enjoy the fascinating sandcastles. We will also have a stop in Kalaat M’Gouna which is also called the Valley of Roses. It is known for its beauty of roses and the production of rosewater.

The Festival of Roses is held every year in May in Kalaat M’Gouna. You will check in to our hotel overlooking the Dades Valley after our arrival.

Your third day of the tour starts after having breakfast at your accommodation. On this day, you will visit the Village of Khamila where Gnawa people live. There, you will enjoy their music and observe the lifestyle. Gnawa music is a well-known style of music with a plentiful repertory of ancient African Islamic spiritual religious songs and rhythms.

The day continues to visit the famous Lake of Merzouga where different kinds of birds live including Flamingos. You may want to visit a nomad house where you will have a warm welcome. You can find there Berber the beautiful handicrafts at a cheap price. In the afternoon, you will ride camels to explore the astonishing sand sea of Erg-Chebbi. In a traditional Berber tent, you will spend the night under a full sky of stars. Here, you will have dinner and breakfast.

In the early morning, you will wake up to witness the beautiful sunrise over the sand dunes before you ride camelback to the hotel where you will have a shower and a refreshing shower. The resumes heading to Errachidia through Erfoud to Ziz Valley (an Alouite dynasty famous for its palm groves). On your journey, you will have lunch in Midelt.

Traveling through Cedar Forest( the largest forest in Morocco), where you will enjoy watching the Berber apes, you will arrive at Fez where the tour comes to an end.
