7 Days Desert Tour From Casablanca

Tour Overview

Itinerary

The 7-day desert tour from Casablanca starts by Visiting  Casablanca’s most interesting places is what the 1st day of the trip will begin with. Today’s exploration includes visiting Hassan ll Mosque. This 1st large mosque in Africa and the third in the world took six years to be built ( 1987_1993). After having lunch, we will continue our journey to Meknes. It is one of the four imperial cities in Morocco. Fez is where you will spend the night at a Riad/hotel, but before that, you will enjoy a visit to Volubilis. It is the prominent ruins of the Roman Empire in  Morocco.

Today’s plan will be to explore the most ancient imperial city in Morocco, Fez. While you are in Fez, you will visit the well-known Tennaries (the most famous tannery is Chouara Tannery which was built in the 11th century), the Andalusians’ Mosque, and the new Medina(city). The overnight will be spent at a hotel or Riad where you will have dinner and breakfast.

Before we leave Fez, you will have breakfast at the hotel. On our journey, we will travel through Ifrane city which is known for its special, clean, and green environment ( some call it Switzerland of Morocco), and Midelt. Ziz Valley is famous for its massive palm groves, and the variety of crops. Erfoud, where you enjoy observing the fossils, and Rissani which is known for having the largest Souks (Traditional markets) in Morocco.

In Merzouga, you will stay the night at a hotel where you’ll have dinner.

Khamia village is the place you’ll be visiting after having breakfast. Its musicians are what this interesting village is known for. You’ll enjoy eating lunch in a nomad tent in the desert. After that, you will get yourselves ready to camp in the Sahara Desert after riding camels there. The night will be spent in a traditional nomad tent, where you will have a nice Berber supper.

One of the beautiful things that you will experience is witnessing the sunrise in the Sahara desert, after waking up early in the morning. After you return to the hotel riding the camelback, you will have a nice shower and take a refreshing shower. Then, we retake our journey toward Rissani, Tinghir, until we reach Todra Gorges where you will have lunch. Most visitors enjoy hiking in the highest, and the narrowest gorges in Morocco. The next place you visit after leaving Todgha Gorges is Dades Valley. Here, the majestic sand castles and monkey toes (a fascinating rock formation) are a point of attraction for tourists.

On day number seven of your tour after having breakfast, you will travel to Ouarzazate through the thousand Kasbahs. In Kalaat M’Gouna, which is famous for being a valley of roses, we will stop. While you are there, you may be able to visit the local cooperative for the roses. Before we reach our destination Marrakech, the tour will be going through Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah ( one of the last Berber chieftains during the 18th built by Et Hami El Glaoui), and Tizi n’Tichka pass ( 2260m over the High Atlas mountains).

We had a 7 day tour organised to suit us by Wild Morocco Tours . Our driver Ali was a great driver and guide and provided specialist guides in most of the places we visited . We travelled from Casablanca to Fez, Mekenes, with two amazing days in the dessert through the Atlas Mountains to Maraketch seeing many interesting sights and villages along the way. We stayed in excellent Riads and hotels great views. I would highly recommend Wild Morocco Tours everything was well organised and nothing was too much trouble.
