Itinerary

Your desert tour begins bright & early with a pick-up from your hotel or airport in Marrakech. Then we hit the road to the stunning High Atlas mountains & Tizi-N-Tichka pass. Get ready for some fantastic views of nature! We will make stops to take photos. Next up is the famous Telouat Kasbah.

After that, we’re off to Ait Ben Haddou. This Kasbah is a fortified village that UNESCO calls a World Heritage Site! It has been in many films like Gladiator and The Mummy—pretty cool, right? And we can’t forget about its appearances in TV series like Game of Thrones! Then we drive to Ouarzazate, known as “The Gate of the Desert.” Here, get comfy with dinner & an overnight stay in a nice hotel.

Start your morning with breakfast! Afterward, let’s explore Ouarzazate. We check out Atlas studios where big movies were made & visit Taourirt Kasbah too—this ancient mud castle is incredible. Next, we head east towards Amridil Kasbah surrounded by lush palm groves in Skoura. After that, it’s off to Kalaa Magouna famous for its beautiful Rose valley. Did you know there’s an annual Rose Festival in May? Locals showcase their rose products such as perfumes and rose water!

Then we head towards Dades Valley through Boumalne Dades. There will be must-see stops at “monkey fingers” rock formations and breathtaking viewpoints over Dades Valley. Dinner and overnight stay await you at a hotel in Boumalne Dades.

After breakfast today, we move on to Todra Gorges! It’s an amazing canyon carved by the river over time—those tall red cliffs are remarkable! You can wander around & take it all in. Then we drive through palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad with some free time for lunch on the way.

In the afternoon, we arrive at Merzouga Sahara desert! Time for camel rides over soft sandy dunes. Don’t miss the chance to catch a beautiful sunset at one of the tall dunes. Later on, we’ll reach our luxury desert camp where you can enjoy Berber drumming while dancing by the campfire under a blanket of stars! Dinner there is included as well as your overnight stay.

Waking up early this morning is important—you don’t want to miss that stunning sunrise in the desert! After breakfast, it’s back on the camels returning to Merzouga where your driver will be waiting for us. We dedicate today to exploring all that Merzouga has to offer with its enchanting sites—from sand dunes and wild lakes to ancient mines.

To kick things off in Merzouga, we’ll drive off-road towards an old eyeliner mine before visiting local nomads in their cozy woven tents. You’ll learn about their lifestyle while enjoying some Berber tea! Next stop is Khamlia village where you can enjoy lively Gnaoua music and dance performances! The folks here come from places like Mali and Sudan—so much culture! Afterward it’s lunch break at a restaurant followed by a lovely stroll through palm trees before heading over to see Merzouga’s wild lake which is often home to flamingos as well. Dinner tonight will be back at our hotel where we’ll spend one more night!

On this last day of our Marrakech-Fes desert adventure wake up early again for one more beautiful sunrise over the desert! Enjoy breakfast before making your way back on camels again returning to Merzouga where your driver awaits us one last time!

Next up is Rissani town—the ancient capital of Tafilalet—and still buzzing as a trading center with its large souk full of life every Tuesday, Thursday & Sunday! After strolling through Rissani souk these bustling markets we continue on our journey towards Erfoud stopping at fossilized marble workshops.

Next stop—along Ziz river—to soak up some panoramic views over Ziz valley followed by lunch break mid-way at Midelt before heading toward cedar forests filled with Barbary macaques…feel free (but gently!) feeding them!

A trip wouldn’t be complete without visiting lovely Ifrane known for its chilly weather resembling Switzerland due its alpine-style houses—which makes sense why it gets that nickname “Switzerland of Morocco.” Finally—we’ll take you back either to airport or your accommodation in wonderful Fes
